2014 Golf Tournament

Alumni Brothers,
We are now less than two weeks away from the event we have all been looking forward to for a whole year. The most unbelievable shots are attempted (translation=missed balls, hooks, slices, no chance in h…, language @#$%^ ), some are made, many are not. It doesn’t matter,  because we are having fun, laughing, enjoying the opportunity to see good friends and make a few new ones.
Once again we have a good mix of players (33 at this time) spanning all decades. If you are planning on playing in the tournament and you have not notified Wayne Reeves, please do so in the next few days ( deadline is May  5th ).
Anyone wishing to share an opportunity to socialize with your alumni, please feel free to attend the post tournament awards/silent auction (3:00-6:00). Keep in mind, this is the only alumni event scheduled for the Atlanta area.
The golf committee is still seeking donations to off set the cost of the undergraduate representative foursome. To date we have received $100 towards the $400 cost. Unfortunately, without donations to cover this expense, the tournament will not be able to extend the invitation to the chapter in the future. Please send your donation (any $$ amount) to:

Wayne Reeves,

Hole sponsors please forward your donations to the Kappa Sigma A Alumni P.O. Box or bring your checkbook to the tournament (see the attachment for check details, thanks).
If you are interested in  playing in the tournament but are unsure at this time, we will be able to accommodate a few last minute players at the door.
The golf committee looks forward to seeing everyone and thanks again for your continued support.

6th Annual Lambda Delta Alumni Golf Tournament

The 6th Annual Lambda Delta Alumni Golf Tournament is set for Friday, May 9th . This event provides a great opportunity for Lambda Delta brothers from ALL eras, the ’70′s, the ’80′s, the ’90′s and the ’00′s to get together for a day of fellowship and golf.

For the last 5 years attendance at this tournament has raised thousands of dollars for The Memorial Scholarship has been dominated by our older brothers. We would love to have participation from ALL eras. How about you guys who get together each year for your “Winter Luau”? Why don’t you consider joining us this year! Surely, some of you guys can play golf!

What better place to share stories and see old fraternity brothers than the annual HERRING MEMORIAL ALUMNI GOLF TOURNAMENT!!! Yes, it is almost that time again. We gather as alumni and brothers of the greatest fraternity on the campus of UWG. We reach into a bag, grab a club (any club), hit a ball, go find it, and hit it again (we hope). We do this for 18 holes, we pay good money to do this, and we declare how much fun we’re having (even though our language and the distance achieved by the throwing of our clubs may indicate otherwise).

As many of you know, this event sponsors our $1,000 Memorial Scholarship. This is also the only alumni event held in the Atlanta area. The 2013 tournament raised $4,289 for the scholarship and endowment fund. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank those individuals who made this possible:

Hole Sponsors: ($100+) : Christine Herring, Ron Smith, Wayne and Deedow Reeves, Aubrey Duke, Bill Brown, Mike Atchley, Mack Anderson, John Harris, Rob Dial, Roger King, Dan Minish, Bruce Hildebrand, Boyd Morley, Tom Russell, Bill Cook, Wayne McKinley, Lonnie Maddox, John Brown, Doug Putnam

19th Hole Sponsor: Greg Wojcik

Silent Auction Donor: Cliff Wright

Volunteers: Deedow Reeves, Jan Wojcik, Dan Minish, and Clay Springfield

And the players, too many to name, but not possible without you!

These were the people who made the 2013 tournament another very successful event. From the Golf Committee, a very sincere THANK YOU for your participation as the event simply would not occur without your commitment and support.

Mark MAY 9, 2014 on your calendar. This is the day, party time, and yes, it is time for all involved to start the planning process all over again! Are we up for the challenge???? WELL, YEA!
